The best time to photograph newborns are as soon as you’re comfortable — but definitely before 3 months. Each session runs for around an hour and a half to two hours, either at your home or on location. We understand that things are pretty hectic in those early months (especially for new parents!) so we are flexible with date, so if you’ve had a rough night we can reschedule. We have a little one of our own, so we completely understand!

beautiful books for everyone

With all our photo packages we offer a book design service, were we take your images and turn them into beautiful books in sizes small enough to pop into your handbag to big, bold coffee table books. It’s the perfect accompaniment to our "A Year in Pictures" package, or maybe we’ve taken your photo a few times, and you want to put all the photos together in a book as a Christmas gift. There’s never a bad time to make a beautiful book.

You can choose the photos that go into your book, and we'll design a layout and email it to you for check. If you're happy with it you order and pay for each book you want, and we send the book to the printer -- simple! For each new design the price for the first book includes the design time, but each book that follows is just the cost of producing the book. tips for a great photo session

Having your photo taken is a collaboration; our expertise and your enthusiasm goes together to create that magic spark that turns a good photo into an heirloom. With that in mind, we have a few tips for a great photo session:

1. The very most important thing is to have fun! Don’t worry about what you look like and enjoy yourself, and the photos will naturally come out better.
2. Keep your clothes simple. We suggest natural colours and simple patterns, unless you can really wear that super hot pink! Avoid brands or crazy patterns, we want you to stand out, not your clothes.
3. For families it’s nice for everyone to match, but don’t fret too much about it. Something as simple as “dark top, light bottoms” can go a long way, and is often much easier when there’s lots of people involved.
4. For young children and babies, try to book a time after when they would've had a good rest. Children rarely last more than 20 minutes before they get bored of having their photos taken, and in our experience if they’ve had a nap just before the session they last longer and better images come out. But, kids are kids, and if they are a bit grumpy on the day we can reschedule or just do our best!
5. Lastly, go get that haircut, have that pampering at the salon, pick out your Sunday best and make sure everything is clean and pressed. Even little things that you wouldn’t notice in real life can pop out and be a distraction in the photo. Dress to look good, but not for Saturday night — we want you relaxed and comfortable.
